Porsche battery replacement in Dubai
Almost every recent Porsche in the UAE uses an AGM battery, and each replacement must be registered so the charging system adapts to the new battery. Location depends on the model: the 911, Boxster and Cayman carry it in the front luggage compartment, while the Cayenne keeps it under a front seat.

Porsche batteries: notes from our technicians
- 01
In the 911, Boxster and Cayman the battery sits under a cover in the front trunk, away from the rear engine heat but hard to reach when it is flat.
- 02
Recent Cayenne generations place the battery under a front seat, with a jump-start point in the engine bay.
- 03
Some performance 911 versions were offered with a lightweight lithium starter battery, which needs a like-for-like replacement and a suitable charger.
- 04
Registration with a diagnostic tool tells the car the battery is new and resets its charging strategy and stored battery data.
Why German cars need battery registration
An intelligent battery sensor (IBS) learns how old and worn the battery is and raises charging voltage to compensate. A new battery has to be registered so the car starts again from zero.
- Skipping registration usually overcharges the new battery and shortens its life.
- If you change capacity or switch from EFB to AGM, the car must also be coded for it.
- Batteries often sit in the boot or under the floor, with jump posts under the bonnet.
- A memory saver keeps windows, seats and modules from losing their settings.
With a completely flat battery, the electric front-lid release on a 911, Boxster or Cayman stops working, so reaching the battery means using the emergency release procedure through the fuse box.

Send your car and location
WhatsApp the make, model and year, or a photo of the battery label, plus a location pin. We confirm the right battery and the price before anyone drives out.
- 02
The nearest van heads to you
Technicians are spread across Dubai, so one is usually 20–35 minutes away. You get their name and live location while they drive.

Fitted, coded, under warranty
New battery fitted with a memory saver, registered on cars that need it, old one taken for recycling. Up to 24 months warranty on the receipt.
Porsche battery questions
Question not here? Send a message and a technician answers, not a bot.
How do you open a Porsche 911 front trunk with a dead battery?
Porsche provides a way to power the front-lid release from a booster pack through a connection in the fuse box. Our technician opens the lid this way, then tests and replaces the battery inside the front trunk.
Does a Porsche Cayenne battery need registration?
Yes. After fitting, the new battery is registered with a diagnostic tool so the car stops treating it as an aged battery. Skipping this step can shorten AGM life and trigger electrical warnings.
Should I use a battery maintainer on my Porsche during summer travel?
If the car will sit for more than two or three weeks, a maintainer keeps the AGM topped up, and Porsche sells its own unit for exactly this purpose. Without one, many owners come back to a battery too low to unlock the car.
How long does a Porsche battery last in the UAE?
In UAE conditions a Porsche battery typically lasts 3–4 years. Heat, short trips and long periods parked shorten that, so we recommend a test once the battery passes two years.
Porsche battery flat?
The nearest technician is usually 20–35 minutes away, day or night, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
