Land Rover battery replacement in Dubai
Land Rover models such as the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery and Defender have high electrical loads, and many versions use two batteries: a main battery and an auxiliary battery that supports start-stop and the electronics. Most run AGM batteries, and on several models the battery sits under a floor or trim panel rather than in plain view under the bonnet. Our technicians test both batteries, fit the correct AGM and complete the battery reset with a diagnostic tool.

A Land Rover left in a basement or airport car park for two to three weeks often comes back to a flat battery or a string of system warnings, because its high standby draw slowly empties the AGM.
Land Rover batteries: notes from our technicians
- 01
Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery models with start-stop often have an auxiliary battery alongside the main AGM, and either one can trigger warnings when weak.
- 02
Main batteries are usually large AGM units of about 80–105Ah, and the location varies by model and generation, from the engine bay to under a floor panel.
- 03
Land Rovers keep many modules awake after locking, so the parasitic draw is higher than average and batteries suffer when cars sit for weeks.
- 04
A battery monitoring reset with a diagnostic tool after replacement lets the energy management use the correct charging profile for the new battery.

Each model has its own page with the battery type, size family and where it sits.
British cars, auxiliary batteries and drain
Land Rover, Range Rover and Jaguar models carry a lot of electronics that stay awake after you lock the car. A weak battery shows up as warning messages long before a no-start.
- Many models have a second, auxiliary battery for start-stop or electronics.
- Low voltage triggers suspension, gearbox and infotainment warnings that look serious.
- AGM is the factory fit on most recent models.
- Registration with a diagnostic tool resets the battery monitoring system.

Land Rover battery questions
Question not here? Send a message and a technician answers, not a bot.
Does a Range Rover have two batteries?
Many Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models with start-stop have a main battery and a smaller auxiliary battery. They wear out separately, so our technician tests both before recommending which one to replace.
Why does my Land Rover battery drain when parked?
Land Rovers draw more current at rest than most cars because of the alarm, keyless entry and connected modules. Parked for weeks in summer heat, the battery can run flat; a battery maintainer or a short drive each week helps, and a draw test finds any module that is not going to sleep.
Does a Defender need battery registration after replacement?
Yes, the new Defender and other recent Land Rovers should have the battery reset through a diagnostic tool so the battery monitoring system applies the right charging profile. We include this with the replacement.
How long does a Land Rover battery last in the UAE?
In UAE conditions a Land Rover battery typically lasts 2–3 years. Heat, short trips and long periods parked shorten that, so we recommend a test once the battery passes two years.
Land Rover battery flat?
The nearest technician is usually 20–35 minutes away, day or night, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
