Hyundai battery replacement in Dubai
Hyundai is everywhere on UAE roads, from Accent and Elantra commuters and rental cars to Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade family SUVs. Most models keep the battery under the bonnet in a mix of JIS and DIN sizes, with EFB or AGM on trims that have Idle Stop and Go. We bring Korean and international battery brands to your location for a quick car battery change and charging test.

Hyundai batteries: notes from our technicians
- 01
Accent, Elantra and Creta usually use compact batteries in the 45–60Ah range, while the Santa Fe and Palisade step up to roughly 70–90Ah.
- 02
Newer Tucson, Sonata and Santa Fe models increasingly use DIN-style cases, so the replacement is matched by case size and terminal layout rather than an old JIS chart.
- 03
Trims with Idle Stop and Go (ISG) use an EFB or AGM battery together with a battery sensor on the negative terminal.
- 04
Hybrid models have their own 12V arrangement, and on some, such as the Ioniq hybrid, the 12V battery is built into the hybrid pack, so the technician checks the setup first.
After a battery change on an ISG-equipped Hyundai, Idle Stop and Go can stay inactive for several hours while the battery sensor learns the new battery, which owners often mistake for a fitting fault.
What changed in newer Korean cars
Older Hyundai and Kia models take simple flooded batteries. Newer ones with idle-stop and battery sensors need more care when the battery is changed.
- Cars with ISG (idle stop and go) need an AGM or EFB battery of the same rating.
- A battery sensor on the negative terminal tracks charge; it must be refitted correctly.
- Hybrids carry a separate 12V battery, sometimes in the boot, sometimes integrated.
- Many models use DIN sizes rather than the JIS sizes of older generations.

Hyundai battery questions
Question not here? Send a message and a technician answers, not a bot.
What battery does a Hyundai Tucson use?
Depending on year and engine, the Tucson takes a 60–80Ah battery, often in a DIN-style case on recent models, with EFB or AGM on Idle Stop and Go trims. The technician reads your current battery to fit the exact equivalent.
Why is Idle Stop and Go not working after my Hyundai battery change?
The battery sensor needs time to learn the new battery, usually after the car has been parked and locked for a few hours. Once it has relearned, ISG returns on its own; if it does not, a diagnostic check of the sensor is the next step.
How long does a Hyundai Accent battery last in the UAE?
Typically two to three years. Rental and ride-hailing Accents that idle with the AC on for long periods often need a replacement closer to the two-year mark.
How long does a Hyundai battery last in the UAE?
In UAE conditions a Hyundai battery typically lasts 2–3 years. Heat, short trips and long periods parked shorten that, so we recommend a test once the battery passes two years.
Hyundai battery flat?
The nearest technician is usually 20–35 minutes away, day or night, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
