Kia battery replacement in Dubai
Kia batteries in the UAE serve two groups: Picanto, Pegas and Rio cars driven hard in rental and delivery fleets, and Sportage, Sorento, K5 and Telluride owners who expect reliable family transport in the heat. The small cars run compact batteries with little spare capacity, while the SUVs need larger units and often EFB or AGM on start-stop trims. Our mobile team tests and replaces Kia batteries at home, at work or in the car park.

Kia batteries: notes from our technicians
- 01
Picanto and Pegas use small batteries of roughly 40–50Ah, which heavy AC use at idle drains quickly.
- 02
Sportage and Sorento commonly take 60–80Ah batteries, and the Telluride, built for the North American market, uses a larger DIN H6 or H7 type.
- 03
Early Niro hybrids have a 12V lithium battery built into the hybrid pack, with a "12V BATT RESET" button for recovering from a flat battery.
- 04
Kia start-stop trims carry a battery sensor, so replacements should match the original EFB or AGM type.
Fleet Picanto and Pegas cars often lose battery health within two years, because frequent short trips and long idling never let the compact battery recharge fully.
What changed in newer Korean cars
Older Hyundai and Kia models take simple flooded batteries. Newer ones with idle-stop and battery sensors need more care when the battery is changed.
- Cars with ISG (idle stop and go) need an AGM or EFB battery of the same rating.
- A battery sensor on the negative terminal tracks charge; it must be refitted correctly.
- Hybrids carry a separate 12V battery, sometimes in the boot, sometimes integrated.
- Many models use DIN sizes rather than the JIS sizes of older generations.

Kia battery questions
Question not here? Send a message and a technician answers, not a bot.
Which battery fits a Kia Sportage?
Most Sportage models take a 60–80Ah battery under the bonnet, with EFB or AGM on start-stop versions. Case size and terminal position differ between generations, so the technician confirms from the battery label before fitting.
What is the 12V BATT RESET button on a Kia Niro?
On early Niro hybrids the 12V battery sits inside the hybrid battery pack and is disconnected automatically to protect it when it runs low. Pressing 12V BATT RESET restores its power for a short window so the car can be started and recharge itself; if it keeps happening, the system should be tested.
What decides the cost of a Kia Picanto battery replacement?
The cost depends mainly on the battery brand and capacity you choose and on whether the car needs a standard or a start-stop battery. Small-car batteries are among the most affordable to replace, and delivery and fitting at your location are included.
How long does a Kia battery last in the UAE?
In UAE conditions a Kia battery typically lasts 2–3 years. Heat, short trips and long periods parked shorten that, so we recommend a test once the battery passes two years.
Kia battery flat?
The nearest technician is usually 20–35 minutes away, day or night, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
