Citroën battery replacement in Dubai
Citroën models in the UAE, including the C3, C4, C5 Aircross and Berlingo, keep the battery in the engine bay, usually under a plastic cover. Start-stop versions use EFB or AGM batteries, and after a replacement the electric windows may need re-initialising so one-touch operation and anti-pinch work again. We replace Citroën batteries on site and run through those resets before leaving.

Citroën batteries: notes from our technicians
- 01
Most current Citroën petrol models use a DIN-format battery in the L2 to L3 family, around 60 to 70Ah.
- 02
Start-stop needs an EFB or AGM battery, and the function may stay inactive for a few hours after replacement while the car learns the new battery.
- 03
Berlingo and Jumpy vans used for deliveries make dozens of short stops a day, which favours a higher-capacity EFB battery.
European start-stop systems
French, Italian and Czech cars sold in the UAE increasingly use start-stop, which means EFB or AGM batteries and, on some models, a battery reset after fitting.
- Match the original technology; a flooded battery in a start-stop car fails early.
- DIN sizes (LN2 to LN5) cover most models.
- Some engine bays are tight, so the battery is reached by removing a cover or air box.
- A memory saver avoids having to re-enter radio codes on older models.
After a flat battery or a replacement, Citroën drivers often find the one-touch windows have stopped working, which is fixed by holding each switch up for a few seconds to reinitialise it.

Citroën battery questions
Question not here? Send a message and a technician answers, not a bot.
Why is start-stop not working after my Citroën battery change?
Start-stop on a Citroën can stay inactive for several hours after a battery change while the car assesses the new battery's state of charge. If it still does not work after a few days of normal driving, the battery type or connections should be checked.
Which battery does a Citroën C5 Aircross use?
The C5 Aircross usually takes a DIN L3 size EFB or AGM battery of around 70Ah, depending on engine and start-stop equipment. The technician confirms the exact specification from the fitted battery.
Do you replace batteries on Citroën vans?
Yes, we replace batteries on Berlingo and Jumpy vans at depots, warehouses and on the street, so delivery drivers lose as little working time as possible. Card, cash, Tabby and Tamara are all accepted.
How long does a Citroën battery last in the UAE?
In UAE conditions a Citroën battery typically lasts 2–3 years. Heat, short trips and long periods parked shorten that, so we recommend a test once the battery passes two years.
